BASIC FUNCTION
Create innovative concepts, products, experiences, services and human interfaces through the mastery of the design process within the New Product Development community and guide from senior designer.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities:
1. Work on complex design projects from concept generation through implementation with guidance from senior designer.
2. Understand the consumer, so that functional aspects can be considered along with aesthetic needs and cost objectives.
3. Ensure that there is a high level of design within all of the details throughout the product.
4. Participate in accomplishing the day-to-day activities of the Industrial Design team.
5. Work very closely with all new product development departments, including Engineering, Marketing, Purchasing, and Manufacturing, in a team atmosphere to achieve new product designs.
6. Create many diverse ideas in order to inspire and stimulate meaningful products.
7. Participate in new product development activities which include generation of new product concepts
8. Determine appropriate approaches to concept development by executing/managing product concept drawings, physical modeling, and product presentations.
9. Maintain current awareness of consumer competitor product offerings including product design trends in Korea, Asia and Global markets.
10. Continuously explore and develop new methods of model making and presentation techniques as appropriate to cost and timing factors.
11. Conduct UX tests to identify problems, gain insights and validate user experience.
12. Develop and maintain familiarity with materials and processes used in the appliance / electronic industry.
Profile:
1. Expertise and/or familiarity in Appliances / Electronics - Materials and process knowledge in plastic and mechanical aptitude is must.
2. Strong communication skill both verbal and written. Proficiency in English is preferred.
3. Oversea experience is plus.
4. Knowledge in IoT / APP development is plus.
5. Strong portfolio demonstrating thought process
6. Good understanding of 3D form in terms of aesthetic, proportion and various styles
7. Strong interpersonal and team skills
8. Extensive experience with 3D and 2D software (Creo, Keyshot, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign)

Skills/Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university or college of design with academic emphasis on product design. Minimum 3-8 years of experience in product design industry or related field is must.
