[Purpose of the position]
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for advancing manufacturing and assembly technologies efficiently by optimizing defined manufacturing areas to ensure quality, safety and equipment utlization. Additionally, the engineer will develop engineering proficiency within the teams, ensuring that local teams and R&D possess the latest technological and manufacturing expertise to optimize business performance.
[Key responsibilities]
- Analyze, plan, and implement improved production methods and procedures to achieve cost-effective manufacturing of various production quantities
- Provide technical support to shop floor employees, including subcontractors in machining, programming, fabrication, testing, and assembly processes and equipment
- Troubleshoot day-to-day shop floor issues related to equipment, tools, raw materials, and design by analyzing root causes and working together with the team
- Review new and revised design drawings for manufacturing feasibility, optimal product design, and cost-effectiveness.
- Execute projects related to standard and special product manufacturing, new method trials, and process improvement initiatives to enhance cost efficiency and productivity.
- Participate as a local responsible engineer in global new product projects or product facelifts within the global Manufacturing Engineering team.
- Continuously update and apply manufacturing technology knowledge by networking and sharing best practices within the FC Global Operations organization.
[Qualifications]
- Minimum bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent engineering dedgree
- At least 5 years of professional work experience as Manufacutring Engineer in machining and manufacturing technology
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing/assembly processes
- Experience in products transfer or technology transfer is preferred
- Valve manufacturing experience is a plus
- Basic knowledge of LEAN principles is preferred
- Self-motivated and target-oriented
- Excellent at building internal and external networks
- Proficient in written and spoken business English
- Prior experience working in a multinational company is a plus
